A Message From
Our Executive Director
Observing that the social interactions of today – our behavior and carriage as human beings – has for quite some time tended away from the qualities of finesse, naturalness, consideration for others, and even integrity which are the finer aspects of life on earth, the hallmarks of sound humanity which may appear insignificant but are the truly important things.
Believing that the neglect of these supports over generations, in the pursuit of “more tangible” rewards has been an affliction to our collective humanity; whose symptoms worsen everyday and are easily observable in schools that continue to produce graduates, who are wholly without any sense of – let alone aspiration towards – the genuine refinement of character, moreover in the wholesale acceptance of the mantra “I before We”, and the esteeming of the personal standard more highly than the sense of harmony, .
Acting, therefore, in the conviction that so long as we continue to value material wealth and security above all else, we persist in limiting ourselves most harmfully, and the degeneration in our inter-personal relations, in the way and manner of speaking and conversing with one another, that coarseness that never fails to cheapen character and circumstance alike, and the growing disdain for the subtlety and sublimity of real beauty in the name of fashion, all these will alas remain with us.
For the foregoing and yet more reasons we have worked assiduously towards the establishment of Lightstreams Academy – where we hope to do our bit in drawing attention to these finer aspects of our shared humanity, that we may strive to better embrace them as the indispensible supports to spiritual and earthly development that they are.
